From HCMS: Our annual Fine Arts Night will be next week on Thursday, April 2nd. The art show will begin at 5pm followed by the show choir performance at 6pm. Letters will be going home this week to notify you if your child will have artwork on display that evening. Come out and see some amazing talent!!
From HCMS: Scoliosis Screening for all 6th and 8th graders will be performed next week. Forms with information about the screening went home with students last week. If you do not wish for your child to be examined, sign the form that was sent home and return to the school. Please reach out to Nurse Allison if you have any questions.

To attend Fun Day, students must meet the following criteria:
-Passing all classes as of March 24th
-No In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) since March 3rd.
-No overdue library books or outstanding school fees.
*Letters will go home with students regarding eligibility and permission to attend closer to time

They are only allowed to bring transparent water bottles to have during class. No Yeti, Stanley, Owala, etc type containers are allowed at school. If your child brings any of the above, the item will be taken and placed in the office for your child to pick up at the end of the day. Repeated offenses will result in disciplinary action due to defiance of authority. As always, thank you so much for your support!!
This message is from Heard County Middle School. We will have a Valentine's dance tomorrow, February 13th. It will be right after school from 3:15pm-5pm. The cost is $5 to attend. Concessions will be sold. If your child has had any ISS/OSS, is failing any class, and/or has any overdue books or fines, he or she will not be allowed to attend. Your child has been notified if they cannot attend the dance. If your child attends the dance, the dress attire must meet dress code. Pick up for 6th and 7th grade will be at the front of the school and follow car rider pick-up. 8th graders need to be picked up in the back of the school using the second entrance to the gym.

This message is from Heard County Middle School. Good morning HCMS families!! For those that can make it safely to the middle school, meals will be ready between 9:30-12:30. Please come to the lunchroom parking lot to pick them up. It is the small parking lot located on the right when you take the the school entrance going toward the gym. It is where the green dumpsters are located. Ring the bell at the door and the food will be brought out. Be sure to have your child's name and lunch number if they are not present. We look forward to serving you.

Each teacher has created an assignment for every class. These assignments are located on the Heard Middle website (hms.heard.k12.ga.us). At the top of the webpage, click on “menu” and then click “documents”. You then will click the file labeled “distance learning assignments”. Last click the link within that folder and it will redirect you to a shared google drive organized by grade and/or content area. Hopefully, we will return to school Friday. We will keep everyone updated as soon as we find out more information.
